ALBIS is responsible for the development and manufacturing of a new high power, high linearity fibre-coupled photodiode capable to operate at cryogenic temperatures. The photodiode will be optimized for the generation of low-noise electrical pulse trains needed for quantum computing applications.

ALBIS will take care of providing the packaged high power handling photodiodes that will be implemented in the photonics-based microwave generator. The existing Albis’ high-power photodiode technology will be further improved, and flip-chip mounting of the chip onto a novel diamond carrier for better thermal coupling and higher linearity operation will be evaluated. ALBIS will also contribute to analyze and interpret the phase noise measurements.
