Okmetic, founded in 1985, is the leading supplier of advanced, high value-added silicon wafers for the manufacture of MEMS, sensor, RF and power devices. The company has the most extensive 150 to 200 mm wafer portfolio in the market, comprising comprehensive lines of Silicon-On-Insulator (SOI) wafers and High Resistivity RFSi® wafers as well as Patterned wafers, SSP and DSP wafers, TSV wafers, Wafers for Power devices and Wafers for GaN-on-Si applications.
In this project Okmetic‘s aim is to developed silicon wafers to low cryogenic temperatures. Main challenge in low temperature is that many physical properties which are irrelevant in room temperature becomes relevant in cold and also vice versa.
Okmetic will take care of growing and optimizing electrical and mechanical properties of crystal ingots and fabrication of low loss silicon wafers. In addition Okmetic will supply wafers to VTT related to thermalization wafer package. Also Okmetic will provide SOI wafers to Lund University. In addition Okmetic will participate to roadmap work of cryogenic material. Okmetic is also partner in the Cryogenic electrical cooler providing silicon wafers to demonstrator.
On top of this technical work, Okmetic is coordinating the work within Task 1.1 and D1.1
